5 Simple Feng Shui Tips to Enhance your Space

Many people are spending more time at home than ever before.  Which makes this a great time to really create a space that you love while you’re home.  Feng Shui is the act and art of arranging things in your home to align with the natural flow of energy. It stems from the idea that human life is connected to and flowing with the environment surrounding it.

You can go to the extent of designing an entire home around Feng Shui, which can make it overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.  Here are some easy to implement ways to weave some Feng Shui into your home and improve the flow throughout the space.

1.Keep clutter at bay

Do what you can to sort through the items in your home that aren’t really serving a purpose or bringing you joy. When you can eliminate the clutter it will allow your space to have more clarity, and help bring you more clarity.

2. Keep entry clear and tidying

The entryway is where the flow of your home begins.  Think of it as making an energetic first impression.  You’re setting the tone for how the energy will feel throughout your home.  So you want to make this space inviting.  This is also a good place to put a water feature or small fountain.

3. Plants are good as long as you take care of them; represent life

Keeping plants in your home represents life energy.  Your home has specific areas that represent certain areas of your life.  Plants in that area can help represent the growth and life of that energy. 

4. Maps of Feng Shui can be a good way to help you determine where to orient certain items or art in your home

The map doesn’t have to be of your home specifically, it can be a more generic map because the energy can be viewed as a generic template from the entry of the home or even each room.  As in the far right corner looking in from the door is the relationship energy area.

5. Clean Windows

The windows are considered the adults “eyes” of the home.  Keep them clean will help bring clarity and also allow light to get in, which is another easy way to enhance the energy of your home.
